Mr. Jeffrey Tan

Jeffrey Tan is a Senior Director for Business Development and Clearing at Singapore Commodity Exchange (SICOM), subsidiary of the Singapore Exchange (SGX). He oversees and leads the product development, clearing house and technology initiatives for the SICOM.He also serves as a key member in the Strategy and Business Development and Corporate Strategy units in SGX.

Dr. Stuart Cook
Director of Research, Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre, United Kingdom

Dr. Stuart Cook is the Director of Research at the Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre (TARRC) in the UK. Dr. Cook's main areas of research expertise are in the chemical modification of rubbery materials, speciality rubber blends and rubber/thermoplastic blends and in the development of improved filled rubber materials. He has had more than 50 papers, patents and other articles published and presented.

Dr. Chayo Trangadisaikul

Dr. Chayo Trangadisaikul is the Chairman of the Rubber-Based Industry Club under the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Thailand. In FIT, he is also involved in the committees for Industrial Sector, Capacity Building, Safeguard Steering and also the Small and Medium Industrial Institute. Concurrently, Dr. Chayo is also the Executive Vice President for the Bangkok Metropolis Motor Co. Ltd., an automotive parts OEM.

Dr. Chow Keng See
Research Officer, Malaysian Rubber Board, Malaysia

Dr. Chow Keng See is a Senior Research Officer with the Malaysian Rubber Board. She is attached with the Biotechnology Unit at the Sungai Buloh Research Centre. Her area of research in recent years is focused on genomics and bioinformatics. Dr. Chow publishes in refereed journals and speaks at local and international conferences regularly and is also a member of the Biotechnology Working Group of the International Rubber Research and Development Board.

Dr. Stephen V. Evans
Secretary-General, International Rubber Study Group, Singapore

Dr. Stephen V. Evans is the Secretary-General of the International Rubber Study Group. He was working in Shell Research and a range of different chemicals businesses within Shell before moving into the elastomer arena. He has been in the elastomer industry for the past 15 years with both Shell and Kraton Polymers. During his professional career, Dr. Evans has worked extensively throughout all regions of the world.

Mr. Rajiv Budhraja
Director General, Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association, India

Rajiv Budhraja is the Director General of Automotive Tyre Manufacturers' Association (ATMA) in India. ATMA works as a communication channel between the industry and the government. ATMA briefs its members of the changes in government policy on issues related to the Indian economy in general and the tyre industry in particular. Prior to joining ATMA in 1997, Rajiv has served in various service organizations, having worked in PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Confederation of Export Units and Indian Paper Manufacturers’ Association.

Dato' Dr. Ong Eng Long
Technical Advisor, Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, Malaysia

Dato' Dr. Ong Eng Long is the Technical Adviser for Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd. He was the former Deputy Director General of the Malaysian Rubber Board and the former Deputy CEO of Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council. He has been involved with standards development for the past two decades. He is the Chairman of ISO/TC 157, Mechanical Contraceptives and the Chairman of ISO TC 45 SC4 Rubber Products Other Than Hoses. Dato' Dr. Ong has more than 150 publications in areas of rubber physics and latex dipped products.

Mr. Sajen Peter
Chairman, Rubber Board of India, India

Sajen Peter is the Chairman of the Rubber Board of India, a statutory body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry of the Government of India. He was formerly Secretary to the Government of Kerala consecutively starting with Agriculture before moving on to Revenue, Taxes and finally General Education. He had also held senior positions in the Revenue Department and other public sector organisations in Kerala.

Dr. Chairil Anwar
Director, Indonesian Rubber Research Institute, Indonesia

Dr. Chairil Anwar is the Director of the Indonesian Rubber Research Institute (I-RRI). He has served I-RRI since 1980 and has been a Director since 2005. From his office in Tanjung Morawa in Northern Sumatra, he oversees four Rubber Research Centers throughout Indonesia. Chairil has been a member of the board and Chief Executive of the International Rubber Research and Development Board (IRRDB) since 2005, and was also a member of the Committee on Strategic Market Operation (CSMO) of the International Rubber Consortium Ltd (IRCo) from 2005 to 2008.

Dato' Hj. Aliasak Hj. Ambia
President, National Association of Smallholders Malaysia, Malaysia

Dato’ Haji Aliasak bin Haji Ambia is the President of the National Association of Smallholders, Malaysia. He has more than 30 years of experience in the Rubber Industry, most of it were gained from direct exposure in smallholders development and management. He was previously the Deputy Director General of RISDA and a former Director of Extension Services. He now sits on the Board of National Cooperative of Smallholders of Malaysia, Board Director of Malaysia Rubber Board and MARDEC.

Dr. Kamarudin AB Malek
Chief Executive Officer, Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre, United Kingdom, Malaysia

Dr. Kamarudin Ab. Malek is the new Chief Executive Officer of Tun Abdul Razak Research Centre in UK. Prior to this, he was the Head of the Engineering and Product Design Unit of the Malaysian Rubber Board. Dr. Kamarudin specializes in the use of rubber in engineering applications particularly in the seismic rubber bearings for earthquake protection of structures and for offshore oil platforms. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Materials Malaysia, a member of the ISO Technical Committee (TC45/SC 4/WG9) on Seismic Rubber Bearings, and also a member of Institute Engineer Malaysia (IEM) Technical Committee on Earthquake.

Datuk Vinod B. Sekhar
President and Chief Executive Officer, The Petra Group, Malaysia

Vinod Sekhar is the President and Group Chief Executive of the Petra Group, a technology conglomerate responsible for several global technology developments. He is also the founder and CEO of Green Rubber Global, which holds the patents for one of the only true commercial recycling process for waste rubber. In December 2008, he received the prestigious Global Green Award from Global Green USA for Green Rubber.

Dr. Elizabeth Philip
Senior Research Officer, Forestry Research Institute of Malaysia, Malaysia

Dr. Elizabeth Philip heads the Climate Change and Forestry Programme in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). She has spearheaded about eight research and development projects dealing with arboriculture, environmental and forestry issues. She is involved in the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory preparation for Malaysia and has actively participated in many discussions relating to climate change and forestry. Dr. Philip has published more than 30 papers in referred journals and presented more than 100 working papers.

Dr. Asoka Nugawela
Director, Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka

Dr. A. Nugawela is the Director of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka. He has served in various capacities in the organisation since 1980 and has contributed much towards the technology development and development activities in Sri Lanka and abroad.He was also consulted among others for the SRRP II Project in Sri Lanka and for the Integrated Rural Development in Ghana. His research/work has been published in more than 130 publications locally and internationally.

Dr. Prachaya Jumpasut

Dr. Prachaya Jumpasut is the Managing Director and a founding member of the Rubber Economist Ltd, a consultancy firm based in London and Bangkok. Previously he has served for 26 years at the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) in various capacities ending his time as the Head of Economics and Statistics. During his tenure at the IRSG, he has written extensively on a broad range of topics and has presented extensively at various international conferences.

Dr. John Baffes
Senior Economist, Development Prospects Group, World Bank, United States of America

John Baffes is the Senior Agriculture Economist with the Development Prospects Group of the World Bank, USA. His responsibilities include commodity market monitoring and price projections for agricultural commodities as well as research on market structure and policy reform issues both in developing and OECD countries. He has published over 30 articles in various academic journals and numerous chapters in books and other reports in the areas of economic development and agricultural economics. He currently manages the World Bank's report on commodities, Global Commodity Markets.
